Update regarding construction work at The Chocolate Factory in advance of the new National restrictions

We would like to share an update regarding construction work at The Chocolate Factory in advance of the new National restrictions which are due to come into force from Thursday 5th November,

The Government has identified that people in some industries, such as construction, cannot work effectively from home. In these instances, workers are permitted to continue to attend their workplace. This is essential to keeping the country operating and supporting vital sectors and employers.

Accordingly, construction work at The Chocolate Factory will continue as planned throughout the period. Work will take place in line with site operating procedures set out by the Construction Leadership Council. There will be no reduction to site working hours, which will remain in accordance with those approved within the site’s planning permission.

We are very aware that The Chocolate Factory is surrounded by homes. We appreciate that this year has been very difficult for everyone and that with general uncertainty about the future, these are challenging times for many.
We are mindful of our neighbours and will continue to minimise disturbance from construction activities as far as reasonably possible to ensure it remains within permitted levels.

We advise residents to continue to monitor the weekly lookahead which is issued every Friday, outlining planned construction works for the week ahead. To view this on social media please follow @ChocFactoryBris on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. For those without regular access to digital media, the lookahead notice is displayed on the community noticeboard, located on the hoarding at the entrance to site on Greenbank Road.

We remain committed to the delivery of this project, which when completed will provide much needed homes, workplace and a community hub that will place the site back at the heart of the community once again.
